It's not a good idea to mix 5htp with antidepressants so you might want to taper off Exeffor first. Alternatives include SAM-e, Saint John's wort and 5HTP for depression. Tegretol works with most SSRI meds-zoloft,lexapro,paxil etc. Also antidepressant meds like Effexor XR which work on both seratonin and norepinephrine.
