My doctor have merely prescriped byetta for my diabetes...anyone know anything going on for it?
i have be on this for a month. i have lost about 10 lbs. it has helped control the level of my sugars. they dontgo as high and they dont bottom out after eating. my problemis that i cant get enought nutrition now. i weigh 168 and i am 6'5". i immediately consume 170-200 gm of protein/day. no sugars at all.
Byetta is an injected medication taken with meals. It comes in a pen. It slows how quickly your stomach empty, therefore decreasing appetite and producing a less pronounced blood glucose raise after meals. It's one and only used in people with type 2.

New drug called an incretin mimetic. incretin is a hormone that when you eat, stimulates the pancreas to produce insulin. when the food is gone, the incretin is gone, and thus shuts off insulin production, resulting in a particularly low risk of low blood sugar.
