Am I have withdrawl from lexapro?
I took my self of lexapro, because situtaions in my life have changed since I started to take it. I considered necessary to find out if I still needed it. I have been having major migranes and I can't sleep at hours of darkness and my joints have been killing me. I am much happier besides the certainty I feel like I want to rip my head off purely so it will stop hurting. Alive, tyolnol, advil, and other pain killers have no effect on my headache. what can I do.
Yes, its withdrawl. . I am on Zoloft. But with this drug, and any other anti-depressant, you body learn to rely on it. It is not meant to fix the problems in your brain, merely candy coat 'em. The headaches are not probly a direct cause of the drug, to some extent just your brain coping with events, no matter how seemingly simple, and lacking this crutch. I repeatedly to forget to take my own pill and also become susceptable to excrucisting headaches. I think the trick lies in my diet, but don't supervision enough to change =P
You really shouldn't go off of Lexapro and other mood altering medication cold turkey. These meds require a weaning process. You are very likely suffering withdrawl symptoms. What you mentioned here are symptoms common of withdrawl from mood altering meds.
Ask your doctor about it. He may want to put you posterior on it and start the process depending on how long you have been off the meds and how severe your syptoms are.
