My insurance co. doen't cover nexium what is the subsequent best RX?
Prilosec OTC, Prevacid, Protonix all work the same as nexium. Prilosec OTC is over the counter
Zantac seem to work the best (of the non-PPI) from what I've seen in patients, and it is over the counter as well.
Call your doctor's office or your insurance to take a different Rx that is covered. It's best if you can find out which drugs are covered before calling your doc, that way you minimize the time finding which drug is covered.
I would own to guess that your Doc gave you the script for nexium, if your insurance Co. doesnt cover that then go back to your doc and try to receive samples or the next best med for that. If it was important plenty for you to get a script for im sure your doc wont have a problem writing you something else or giving you the samples.

My man started on Nexium and when he switched insurance companies he started on Prilosec otc, he has no complaints, he have been on it for over 3 years now.
My pharmacist told me to try the over the counter prilosec, that it is about the same. How about Prevacid? It is covered lower than my insurance and costs about the same as the over the counter prilosec.
My insurance wouldn't cover Nexium, either. Try Prevacid, it works the same (for me) but is a lot cheaper, and usually covered by insurance companies. If it does not work, hold your doctor call your insurance company and tell them that you need to take Nexium because the other alternatives be not effective.

one more prilosec answer. my doc told me to go draw from it in the first place. worked great. now my bf's taking it and it's working great for him too.
Not entirely sure. Try calling up the pharmacy they'll be able to tell you what the best generic one is and furnish you a price as well.
