IM on lexapro its causeing consignment gain almost on a daily basis purely dont know if i can stop using it?
Lexapro have many different side effect. Weight gain can be one of them. I would not stop using the drug with out first talking to your doctor. Doing so could cause even more mass gain. For the drug should be taken off slow. This is true with any drug though.
ask your Doctor give or take a few some water pills, that could be al;l water gain!
I have something to tell you. Out of all of the SSRI's Lexapro has the tiniest side effects of weight gain. I have been on it for over a year now and I hold lost weight. I am always concerned when I am put on a new medication that I will gain weight. My Psychiatrist informed me that Lexapro have the least chance of weight gain of all of the SSRi's on the open market.
Maybe it is because you are depressed and you may be eating more than usual.
If you think that it is the Lexapro have a talk near your doctor and I am sure that he will tell you the same thing that I just did. Good Luck
MOSTLY ALL ANTI-DEPRESSANTS WILL CAUSE INITIAL WEIGHT GAIN. TRY NOT TO FOCUS ON THIS SIDE EFFECT. YOU NEED TO GET CONTROL OF THE DEPRESSION THEN YOU CAN LOOSE ANY GAINED WEIGHT.
I WAS DIAGNOSED WITH DEPRESSION IN "93" I FELT HORRIBLE. THEN I TOOK THE MEDS I STARTED TO FEEL BETTER, BUT THEN STARTED GAINING WEIGHT SO I WENT OFF THE MEDS...BAD MOVE AS I WAS THINNER BUT SOON THERE AFTER I WAS SUICIDAL AND ACTED ON IT. I WISH I WOULD HAVE STAYED ON MY MEDS RATHER THAN HAVING TO HOSPITALIZED IN A PSYCH WARD.
I WENT BACK ON MY MEDS , GAINED SOME WEIGHT, GOT STABLE, STAYED ON MY MEDS ,THEN LOST THE WEIGHT. NOW I AM THINNER, STABLE. AND HAPPY.
KEEP TAKING YOUR MEDS AS A COUPLE OF EXTRA POUNDS ARE WELL WORTH NOT HAVING A COUPLE MORE YEARS OF FELLING UN-NECESSARILY BAD !

Drugs don't really cause weight gain...food does. And you might be drinking more of it as you begin to feel better. People who are depressed can eat too little or too much. If you lost your appetite while depressed, you are likely going to gain some consignment if you take an antidepressant that works for you. A good exercise plan and a reasonable diet are likely to be the most decisive thing you can do. But again, there are 0 calories in Lexapro...it's the food you find yourself eating.
