Effexor xr - sleepless, enlarged pupils, brisk heart?
i just took my first dose of effexor xr yesterday afternoon and i cant get to sleep for the life of me, my pupils are enlarged and my heart is at a faster rate. does this go away and is this is a dodgy med?
im scared to stop taking it because ihave horrible panic attacks yet im scared to preserve taking it cause of the side effects
any bad side effects need to be reported to your doc asap! i take it for nouns attacks and they take like a monthe to kick in. something shouldve aloso loke ativan, or xanax to quiet you.
flawless lord, stop taking it until you speak to your Dr. You know why you have panick attacks, it's a learned behavior, on the other hand you dont know why your reacting to this medication close to you are. Which is worse? I think you know the answer is to stop taking the medication.
First, I would report any of this to your doctor. I had the same kinds of things transpire to me when I started Effexor XR. For me, the fast heart rate only occurred at the 150mg dose, however, everyday I still get dilated eyes, but this simply happens to me at night for some reason. I do not think this is a hazardous medication. With this medication, it takes about a month to work, but sometimes it can even work faster than that... like two weeks. You should make sure that your doctor starts you out on a low dose, (I'm assuming you're taking the XR form) of 37.5mg for a week or so, and afterwards gradually go up. This, i believe is a very good medication, however, it does hold it's downsides, like every medication. Most of what you are experiencing is temporary and should go away, but as always, consult your doctor.
