Does protonix comfort endorse gallstones?
My doctor prescribed protonix and im really curious why..from my understanding protonix is for reflux
No, protonix is a proton pump inhibitor, which (as the name implies) is a treatment for individuals with Gastroesophageal Reflux Disease/Disorder (depending on whom you ask) or peptic ulcer disease. However, tons patients with gallstones also have GERD or PUD; maybe your physician felt you fell into this category. Also, patients beside asthma often find that their asthma symptoms are alleviated by treatment of "silent" GERD with Protonix, because they live with reflux at night short being aware of it, and the reflux irritates their airways. If you also have asthma, that may be a reason for it.
If you aren't sure, you should ask. People should always know why they are taking meds that they are taking -- at least possible, that's what *I* think.

You wont pass gallstones the gallbladder has to be removed. Protonix is probably for symptoms you are have with the gallstones not to help pass them.
