Singulair & 10 month antiquated?

I took my dd to her ENT this morning for her post-op appt from getting tubes. Well she has had a cold recently and her nose is still form of runny/stuffy and she is still congested slightly. So he prescribed singulair to help dry her up and hopefully help her cough. Has anyone given their infant this?
My now 26 month old daughter had constant colds, sinus infections since she was 9 months aged, my other children have never had these problems. My doctor eventually prescribed her Flonase nasal spray and it is like a miracle-for 7 months now no "sludge nose" at all-I expect her nose was constantly running like 50 or more tissues a day for almost a full year until we started the spray. She be on antibiotics 11 times in a year and I know how bad that is for a child-we were close to totally beside ourselves worried about her health before, and our doctor had told us that 9 months outdated do not have developed sinuses and can't have allergies that young!! I personally be on SIngulair for exactly 2 weeks-it gave me heart palpitations very badly and I gained 11 pounds surrounded by those 2 weeks in my stomach (I am 5'8" and 115 pounds-so I am not heavy in the least customarily!). It really freaked me out. The Flonase is localized in the nasal passages and I feel much better about that for such a small child.
Ask your doctor before you make any medical decisions for your babe!!
Yes all my kids had tubes and had singular at one point in time. It is great for at hand noses and coughs.
my daughter took singulair but she be 4 at the time. I know that they do prescribe ti for much younger children now. This is actually an asthma medication and they gave it to my daughter for her allergies. The doctor would not have prescribed it if he thought it would hurt her. Just keep hold of an eye on her while she is taking it. Watch her balance my daughter was allergic to something in it and could not keep her harmonize.
ENT's usually know their stuff, but they are treating symptoms. I've read in other websites that reducing milk intake and eliminating the possibility of other allergies (such as wheat) can abet control nasal congestion.

My daughter had her tubes put in at 13 months old. For the first month or so, she had abundantly of nasal congestion still, which for her meant still more ear infections. After I read the article online, I stopped giving her cow's milk to drink (she makes up her dairy intake in yogurt and cheese consumption). Since I stopped giving her milk, she has be ear infection free for the past month (which hasn't happened since she was 7 months old). As long as the kids are still getting enough calcium through other way, they don't need cow's milk.

It worked for us, and I hope it works for you too.
