About Yaz BC?
I'm thinking about going on the BC yaz. I do get very sever cramps and I become verrry sensative and up set around my period. My period are pretty regular though every month 4-5 days long. Just wondering if anyone has tried or is on it and likes it, or hates it. Gain weight? Lose counterbalance? cramps? That sort of thing. oh and If you didnt like Yaz is there another BC out there that can give support to. I specificly do not want to gain a lot of weight. Anything you could give me would be a lot of back. thanks :)
I am duplicate way and I was on Yaz for 10 months. I also gained 10 pounds, but the good outweighs the doomed to failure. My PMS was almost non existant, usually I cry at a pin drop on my period and Yaz controlled it, I had no cramps when usually I have the worst cramps contained by the entire world, my periods were lighter, shorter, and not so unbearable. I loved it, but I stopped taking it because of the weight gain. I yearning I hadn't stopped taking it though. Source(s): personal experience
you won't gain very much weight as long as you hold yourself in check. obviously the hormone estrogen (which is what elevates during pregnancy) is a fat storing hormone so you're body composition might cash slightly so you're carrying around a little more fat than lean mass. i've been on the stuff for almost 10 years now and its done economically for me. i got on it because of severe cramps as well. yaz is a low dose pill which is better for not putting on as much weight. any low dose pill won't affect you're weight too much.
So... I first have to say, that I unfortunately don't assume there's a clear cut answer for you here. You'll probably have to try something for a good six months to a year before you can tell whether it works for you. I'm 22 and enjoy been on Yaz for just over a year now. There have be many benefits and downfalls of my experience. First the good stuff... my period became regular (before it come every 30-35 days). Now it comes more often (by a few days to a week) but it's much lighter and heck, whether or not you're having sex, it's comforting to have your period come regularly. The best piece of Yaz is that my cramps are nothing compared to what they used to be. Mine used to be so terrible that I'd wake up in the middle of the darkness crying and curled up into a ball and they'd last for a good week or two - losing sleep AND cramping is not a good combo. Anyway, presently I only have cramps for about half a light of day to a day during the month and usually pain killers can actually do the rest of the work! Also, my pelt is less oily and face is clearer - though, I was lawfully lucky and never had much of an issue with either.
About the weight gain... I experienced a ton. I disappeared for college a women's size 2/4 and actually lost 5 lbs during each my freshman and sophomore years. I was pretty constant, maybe gain 2-3 lbs, during junior year. When I began taking yaz at the end of my junior year, I began to gain a lot of bulk. I went from 102 lbs junior year to 138 lbs as of my last doctor's vist yesterday. (I went from a size 2 to BARELY fitting into a size 6.) While gaining 36 lbs within less than 18 months is not fun at all, please note that I don't think this is run of the mill - it seems that I'm having some other complications from the medicine that my doctor is taking care of. More specifically, I am have a problem with my thyroid. As I said, though, you really can't tell how a pill is going to effect you until you actually take it. (All you can do is hope for the best! :))
You should also know that my roommate this historic year was also on Yaz and she didn't gain nearly as much weight as I did - according to her 5-10 lbs but she didn't look like she'd gained an ounce. A lot of general public also gain a lot of this weight in their breasts - I unfortunately own gained mine in my stomach and thighs...
The only other thing I can mention is that sometimes even partly a glass of wine can cause you to feel sick to your stomach, so if you take the pill at dark, wait until after you've finished any drinking to take it if you experience this - you probably won't want to take it before.
The with the sole purpose other negative is that I don't feel quite as balanced as I used to. I discern more moody, though I was very much not moody previously, so it could also just be changes within life and whatnot. Everyone else I've talked with on Yaz hasn't had any mood issues.
Anyway, hope this be helpful! Sorry it was so long!
