Hi, today my doctor prescribed the meds " hyzaar dose 5 0-12.5 , for illustrious bp?
has anyone used it already ? please help.. what are the side effects ? how good is it ? please help ..thank you soo much.
Hyzaar is an anti-hypertensive med (to lower your B/P), and a diuretic. It's a combination of the 2 meds: 50mg for B/P & 12.5mg for diuretic. Take this medication surrounded by the morning, to prevent you from having to urinate in the middle of the night. Also, with any hot B/P medication, change your position slowly. For ex: don't jump out of bed in the morning...1st sit up with your foot dangling over the side, then stand up for a couple of seconds, then take your steps. Why? To prevent you from getting light-headed or dizzy (a adjectives side effect when taking a new B/P med). I'm sure your doctor has also warned you about monitoring your saline intake!! DO NOT ADD salt to your food!! This will further elevate your B/P!! Good luck!! Hope this helped.
