Is it common to grain this droswy of late starting on Seroquel?
I have Bipolar type 2, anxiety/panic disorder, PTSD, OCD. I was getting immune to my Xanax and Trileptal I had been on for years, so my Doctor put me on this instead to see if this trial switch would work, because I started to relapse. He is starting me at 50mg one at night x 4 nights, then increase to 100mg at night x 4 night, then 150mg at night x 4 nights, and lastly, 200mg at night x 4 night. He did warn me about the drowsiness that occurs, but I feel resembling a zombie, and all I can think about is sleeping as I type this question. Is this single a temporary side effect, or am I always going to feel this way taking this prescription? I am afraid to raise the dose after 4 days like my doctor instructed me to, but at the same time, I want to get better. Anyone hold a similar experience or know someone who has? Thank you.
I found that the zombie-like feeling does not travel away. I was taking 300mg morning and 600mg night though. The best thing I could do was drink profusely of coffee but finally I gave up and just slept all day.
Drowsiness is very adjectives with Serequel. I couldn't take Serequel because it made me so tired that I slept for 15 hours and when I was awake I didn't even really feel awake. Many nation are able to adjust to it and it is a good medication for them, but others do not adjust. I would talk to your doctor to see what they want you to do. Good luck.
Serequeol does make you sleepy. I don't have bi-polar but I've been on it for anxiety for a few years. I notice I build a tolerance to it if I take it regularly. If I go a week without afterwards I will get sleepy. I'm on both a benzodiazapem like Xanax called Clonazapem. I take it at intervals throughout the sunshine to keep my anxiety level normal. I don't feel it because it's a drug that builds more of a tolerance than serequeol.
Yes here is the Zombie effect but it might go away. My doctor sees me before he raises the dosage of any drug I'm on. He might be prescribing it that route to get to the therapeutic level. If it's working at the level you are at, later ask him if you can wait until you are used to it.
