Oxycontin and Endone side effects?
Following a back operation I am taking oxycontin (20mg x 3day) and Endone when needed. The pain is less each hours of daylight and I'm taking less and less drug for it. The problem I seem to have is that when I clutch different amount of drugs (usually less) I suffer from extreme mood swings, for a few hours I won't be able to sit still and very happy, the next days its horrible dreams, thought extremely depressed and crying. I'm normally a very steady happy go lucky individual and just not used to feeling like this.
Is here anything I can do? I've only been taking the meds for 3 weeks and am trying to ween (Doctor said I cannot just stop) myself off.
Any tips for dealing with/counteracting the moods - especially the depression?

Wow. At least you know it's the meds, and it's not you. Ask your MD if he thinks that an antidepressant would lend a hand. They have to see this all the time. I know after a recent surgery they told me I'd have problems because of the pain meds, and I'm tremendously upbeat too, so it was veerryy strange to be this weepy mess. In the interim, remember, it's just the medication, it's not you!
